CWC members write novels, short stories, screen plays , poetry, nonfiction articles, books and more. More than half of our members  are published.


We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and one of 22 branches in the state. The state website is

 "Graphic Novels: How I Create Them and How They Fit in Today's Publishing World" 


Kim Dwinell is an illustrator, animator/graphic novelist who also teaches at California State University Long Beach. 
She first had a career as a beach lifeguard, and then a career in animation (The Swan Princess, Cats Don't Dance, Hercules, Mulan and Tarzan,) and now combines her two loves in her first graphic novel, Surfside Girls: The Secret of Danger Point.
